This week is finals week, which means only 4 more days until I can devote more time to this blog! It also means summer is almost here, so get ready for some awesome hiking weather!

Presque Isle
So, instead of giving you a complete walk through of Presque, I want to urge you just to go out there and explore it. My reasoning behind this is that Presque is about 2 square miles in total area, maybe a more, but not much. It is a peninsula, surrounded by a road that goes around the outside of the park, so its virtually impossible to get completely lost. Don't just stick to the trails here either, some of the best sites to discover are off the beaten path (just be respectful). Though Presque is very safe, still be cautious. There was a bear sighting this summer (though I was unable to find it) and there are wolves that wander in to feed on the numerous deer (which are very friendly). Most likely the only wildlife you will see there is a few deer, an assortment of birds (there is a falcon that frequents the area), some squirrels and maybe a rabbit. If you enjoy nordic skiing, all of the inner trails are good for that. Also, during the winter, the road that goes around the backside of the island is closed off for skiing. Don't let the snow stop you, presque is a great place for snowshoeing too. Get out there and explore!

Coming Soon....
This blog is all about sharing info on the best places to hike around Marquette, Mi. This will include hikes with ranging difficulty levels, but will be mostly limited to day hikes. Photos I take during the hikes will be incorporated into each post, so you can see the views and better decide if its a place you would like to go. I will try and start up some posts soon, but due to a busy school schedule it may be a little bit. If you have any places that you would like to be covered on this blog, please send me a message!
